Interested in watching Manoj Kumar playing a college student at an age of 50+ and that too wearing a Sando kind sleaveless T-shirt. Then you are in for a lot of fun. Watch Clerk and you will never regret it.

Dont care for the story, watch it for the sheer pleasure of how a tried tragedy becomes a comedy. You will laugh your lungs out. The story revolves around a clerk played by our very own Manoj Kumar. The movie brings to light that a clerks life is no less than hell. For instance, in a scene when this clerk asks for a favor from his boss, he gets a reply, ''Nahin, Kyunki tum ek clerk ho clerk,'' and then bang starts a song ''Suraj ugte maine na dekha.....''....a very touching song which takes you on yet another laughter ride. You will also witness some beautiful girls chasing our clerk and who are crazy behind him. One of them is so mad about him played by Anita Raaj that when Manoj Kumar smokes and exhales the smoke out, she inhales it into her lungs because she loves him so much. So romantic....Someone pls go and tell her that she is inviting cancer and not love. All the lovers need a class from her on how to express your love and depress your lungs.

This is nothing man, in one scene, our clerk as a college student smokes a cigrrete and crushes it under his feet, and you see another love interest played by Rekha actually picking up that cigarete and smoking it. This is truly unhygenic love. But as they say, aag hai to dhuaan to hoga hi, I mean, pyaar hai to ciggarate to hogi hi. I cant explain the scenes man...you have to see them to enjoy them and to do right justice to them.

A clerk is so poor that when his glasses are broken, he picks up a pair of glasses from his office stairs and starts using them without even caring for the optical no of sight view. You can actually his eyes bulging out when he wears them. Bad Idea.

His chapplas have a a big-hole and when he tries to crush a cigarrete, his feet burn. But the best part is hoe manoj Kumar expresses it..'' meri chappal mein Moiii hai Moiiii.'' Dont wonder what Moiii is it is actually Mori, but with his terrific accent, it becomes Moiiiiiiiiii.

Welcome to the world of Holistic healing and treatment. Clerk gives you the best remedy for treating heart attacks. Just a pair of Batterries. There is a scene where, his father (Ashok Kumar) gets a heart attack, but our clerk will obviously not get a doctor, what a sublime tragedy. God bless all the fathers who have clerks as their sons. The dear son gets a pair of batteries, inserts them into a radio, you guessed it right, No Electricity as well! Clerk you know....Back to the scene, the radio begins and a song starts, ''Kadam Kadam badjhaye ja.....'' and the camera shifts to a uniform which belong to the father when he was a part of the Azad Hind Sena. The energy pumps into the heart through the song and attack is gone. Chaulige Che...Its gone...The attack is healed and a medical miracle and invention has occured.

I can go on and on...but I think this should serve as a strong motivation for watchng Clerk..One bad news, they used to play it on Zee Cinema...but they dont..and I have been trying to catch hold of a Vcd for a long time, but it seems it never got released on a Cd. Great loss for World Cinema. But I hope you also get the privelege that I got to witness the most comedy film ever in the history of World Cinema. The only one that tries to achieve just around 2% of it has been Bewafa. Read me review on that as well.
