Please donot rely on Cleartrip.com for your hotel booking. If you think booking a hotel on Cleartrip.com and getting a confirmation voucher for the same is enough and your job is done and now you can relax, think again.
I was in for such a rude shock when I tried to book a hotel in Ooty for my trip. I booked the hotel and got a confirmation voucher through Cleartrip.com. After an hour or so just to be doubly sure I called the hotel and asked for my confirmation of the booking. To my rude shock the hotel reservation representative simply tells me all the rooms are booked and asked me to contact my travel agent.
Thus started my painful tryst with the Cleartrip customtakeouter service.
customtakeouter exec 1: Sir we apologize for the inconvenience but your bookign has not been confirmed. We have a screwed up system and hence even if our inventory had become 0 our stupid website had shown the room as available.grrrr.
Me: #%$^&%&$&*. Is this the way you handle your customtakeouters etc blah blah. Get my hotel confirmed or book another hotel
customtakeouter exec1: Yes, surely sir I will talk to our concerned team, Please be on hold. The music goes on for 5 mins and I cut the fone frustrated
customtakeouter exec2: Sir, CE1 is on another call will ask her to call you back
Day 2:
Me: Can I speak to CE1.
CE3: No sir she is on leave today
Me: Help me out with the issue.
CE3: We will defintely book the same hotel or another in the same rate before 5-6 PM
Me: Ok, whatever
Day 2 6 PM
Me: Can I speak to CE3
CE4: Sir she has left for the day(damnnnnnnnnn.!@#$#@$)
Me: Blast blast blast. Talk to your dept and get it done immediately
Puts me on hold for a min
CE4: Sir as soon as possible we will get back to you
Me: WTH, my trip is on Friday get it done now
CE4: Sir as soon as .
Me: Bang the phone down
PLEASE NEVER BOOK HOTEL WITH CLEARTRIP!
