My hotel booked using cleartrip.com on 7th June 2014 for a day stay on 14th June 2014 was screwed by lazy team of cleartrip.As I had a booking I went to hotel around 11 45 AM to checkin and figured out that the hotel has cancelled the booking and informed to cleartrip already about the same on the date of booking itself. The hotel showed me the email communication which they made with cleartrip.But, when I tried to contact their customer support team, I had to wait for response for more than 30 minutes. After an hour, they contacted me only to let me know that they cannot allow me to stay in the hotel and also since there are not many bookings available in any other hotel to take a hotel at a different city. This looked very much idiotic to me as they never in a situation understanding my problem of a planned day trip. Further, they gave me options which were very low than what I purchased.The other option they insisted me to take was to opt for a refund.
I believe many people like me go with the cleartrip voucher without doing a double-check, this has caused me a lot of pain. Please ensure next time you look for booking at Sunvalley Homestay, Coonoor, Ooty. You might need to call them to see if they have actually booked. I have to cancel the trip and return back home. Not sure if I will still be able to get the refund as I have chosen to share my experience in public. Time wasted, waiting was for 2 hours and more, it was an awkward situation for me and with the hotel guys who cannot help as there were no rooms in the hotel.
I was there waiting in the reception for a resolution which never came and the only thing I was able to witness was the fight between Cleartrip and Sunvalley employees over phone trying to pass the blame on each other. Despite the fault is clearly of cleartrip side, they were not interested in helping me. Cleartrip definitely spoiled our holiday mood and never looked interested in convincing or providing any other options which would have helped us.Finally we had to leave the hotel at 2 PM.
