How would it feel if you are sold Bajaj Auto rickshaw into thinking that you have bought Rolls-Royce Phantom?
I have been wearing Hush puppies formal shoes for over 5 years now. As many would agree that Hush puppies shoes are synonymous with comfort. However not so good on the style quotient.
Last year, I got my casual pair of Clark's Newton shoes and had fairly good experience with them in terms of both comfort and durability. This good experience gave me enough confidence to also try Clark's formal shoes range as their design certainly scored over Hush puppies'.
As such, I bought the Clark's Goya Formal Shoes from myntra.com 2 weeks ago(reluctantly though, as I am not a fan of buying apparels online since you never get that offline feel factor) and were my new replacement to aging Hush Puppies shoes.
The clarks' shoes are generally priced more than Hush puppies'.
Now, I would expect those pair of shoes to be, if not more, at least nearly as comfortable as Hush Puppies. That seemed to be the case in my initial days of light use until yesterday!
All my assumptions were proved incorrect when they were put to endurance test, yesterday. I wore them while shopping in a local mall. In those approx. 2 hours of shopping, I developed blisters on toes and endured pain all through the shopping. At that time, I dearly missed my pair of Hush puppies.
It feels now like I am have been sold Bajaj Auto instead of Rolls-Royce Phantom!I don't know if that was one off experience or did I expect more than I should have from Clarks' shoes. These shoes are certainly not worth the money I paid for.
Some other reviewers pointed that many international brands are trying to encash the goodwill earned elsewhere and dump inferior products in India, in the absence of any consumer laws. And I agree with that.
This recent experience has made me to be wary of anything other than Hush puppies shoes and certainly be wary of Clarks' shoes.
