Good food and great ambience. Review on Claridges, Delhi

There are times in your life when you are with someone special and/or there is a special occasion when you would want to go out and have dinner in style...What do you think of...Go to any of the much talked about 5 Star restaurants and try out the Bukharas and Dum Pukhts of this world...The only problem being the bill which is steeeeeeeeeeeeeep and also the experience which was not worth the money spent(some places the food is good but the ambience is not good...some place the ambience is terrific but the food is bad...if both are good than the service is hopeless...Well let me share with you the two restaurants which are superb in terms of food...ambience...service and the best part is the prices(these guys are expensive but not like other star hotels)...The two restaurants are Dhaba and the Corbetts in Claridges

Claridges is a small five star with and old world charm on Auragzeb Road(10 minutes away from CP)...The bar called Pickwicks is like an old English Pub and worth visitin...But the best part are these two restaurants...Since not many people have discovered these restaurants you will get a reservation easily.Let me tell you more about Corbetts....

This resturant takes its inspiration from the Jim Corbett Park(wild life sanctuary in UP)...The seating is on jungle stools and there is even a table up on a tree(just like a machan)...The entire restaurant is in the open with trees...dim lights...and animal replicas(which in the dark look almost real... there is a Cheetah or a panther statue... there is a crocodile statue...and many other animals scattered all over the place...They also play animal voices which you are going to encounter in the jungle...The entire experience is superb....You feel as if you are having your meal in the middle of the jungle...So if you like wildlife and cant go to Kenya like Lyla visit this place...

Now for the food....food is superb but is spicy...so all you guys who cant digest chillies be cautious or tell the waiter to make it less spicy for you....Best part is the seating...if you are a group of 10-15 you can have an entire jugle hut for yourself and have a private party of sorts...Only drawback is the menu is limited...The place is open only during winter(I think from Sep to Mar)

The second restaurant is Dhaba...made like an exact roadside eatery you will come across on the hiways...They have even put a truck front in the restaurant to make it look like the real thing...The food is delicious and here you will get more variety than the Corbetts...The plates and glasses are just like what you get in a roadside dhaba

Good experienec and the service is good...Best part is a meal for two will cost around 500 odd bucks...which aint much considering that this is a five star hotel you are going to...So enjoy the difference next time you are in Delhi
