We first visited the mall at Raipur - City Mall on 15th August, and have been there once more on sunday. But is it a mall? HA!
The only reason that footfalls are happening there is because in Raipur, you do not have any other option. No avenue is available to Raipurians. The only place that will give business over the long term will be Inox, and possibly Big Bazaar.
First off, as you enter the place, you run slam-bang into absolute pandemonium. There is no control being excercised. The maximum effort is made towards giving tickets to incomers, which leads to fighting and congestion etc. Both the 2-wheeler as well as 4-wheeler parking stinks.
Next, the mall itself. It is better if you call it a cloth market, for that is all that is available. There is no choice in terms of restaurants, fun worlds, book stores or any other range. Just row upon row of clothes outlets!
The organisers have forgotten that a mall is basically a one-stop shopping-cum-entertainment venture. The only enterntainment provided is Inox! Just compare with Treasure Island in Indore.
