I have fond memories of the excellent salespeople and technicians which City Honda showroom on St Mark's Road in Bangalore had till upto a few years ago. I owned a Honda Dio scooter in those days and the service I got from the showroom personnel was always courteous, prompt and professional.
Sadly, this is no more the case.
I visited the City Honda showroom on St Mark's Road in Bangalore at 6.30 pm on September 4, 2015 to enquire about the CBR 250 motorcycle. The showroom had enough salespersons around, but with the high job security which the company gives them and a huge ego they have acquired thanks to job stability, they appeared to be specialising in ignoring customers. Enquiries to get the right person to answer my questions were in vain.
It took over 15 minutes for them to notice my presence and this did cause me annoyance. A young woman came over to help and she could not answer anything clearly about the bike other than show me where it was displayed. In fact, her ignorance and confusion about the product was startling. I asked her something about the transmission of the bike, and she said she would get back to me, before beating a hasty retreat.
All I can tell these people is to get comfortable with the products and people visiting the showroom. I think they are not aware of the high amount of negative criticism which their showrooms in Bangalore, in particular, the St Mark's Road showroom, is attracting in various online reviews.
I would request the sales personnel posted today at this showroom to not depend for their survival on the Honda brand and the leniency of their employer. The brand has been built at the cost of enormous investments, excellent engineering skills and outstanding sales abilities of many good employees. Do not spoil it and learn to behave like human beings.
If you are not upto the task, simply resign and find a job which suits your introverted and xenophobic personality type. I personally believe that introverts have no place in sales or in showrooms. Hope Honda believes likewise. Thank you.
