Though the name is somewhat complex to understand, but the place is definitely very easy; i.e. relaxing. The main activity all do, when come over here, is to DO NOTHING, yes i.e. to relax and I suppose it’s a perfect place for it.
The property has a perfect location, i.e. you travel by houseboat to reach the Hotel and is a unique way in itself. On the other side of the Hotel are Paddy Fields ( as Alleppy is fondly called the Rice Bowl of Kerala ) and its true also, as there are majority of Paddy Fields here ( as Rice grows in the watered land ). The Backwater view rooms are the perfect choice here bcoz that is the USP of this place. You have not just the view, but a nice feel when you are seating in the balcony of ur room. A perfect place to soothe.
Talking of the Hotel, it has just got a good builtup, as all the rooms are arranged in a cottage style. Rooms also have a sober interior so as to suit the place. Restaurant is just vibrantly made, food is good but Menu is somewhat limited, Keralian dishes are more emphasized but being a Mumbai based company one would expect from them food specialties. The group is ENCORE, the Rajdhani Thali fame.
Though I personally have a distinctive feeling for them, but this one is different from my other experiences. The staff is more than forward to the customers which also add charm to the other things. Swimming pool is nice but can be more improved. Also the Spa Services are good, we had taken Foot Massage and people over there were also nice.
When we had checked in, the bed was nicely decorated by floral design of flowers which was also I had not seen anywhere else. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean, but bathroom needs a good air circulation by way of duct or exhaust (which is now a days everywhere).
In the evening they offer a one hour sunset House Boat Ride, which is the only sightseeing in Alleppy, but worth enjoying. Alleppy is the alternative of Kumarkom, though I have not visited Kumarkom, have heard there are majority of the Hotels situated. But this one also not bad.
Only thing of care, one should be alert while to and fro in HouseBoat is about the valuables and children should be taken care of otherwise it gets immersed down; we had lost a specs pair by my daughter casually while leaving the place; But don’t take otherwise as it's not scary at all.
