I have always been a huge fan of chrongraphs. Most of the people don't literally understand what a chronograph means and what is the use of one - I aint one of them.
After checking out a lot of chrono's from titan, timex, police, Tissot , Giordano, Morellato - I was sure that I wanted to buy a alarm chronograph with a steel body ( because I sweat a lot and leather straps get corroded from the inside ) and specifically a crystal glass with a weather bezel.
I hadn't checked out the citizen range till then. I had decided to get the Police Alarm Chrono for about 20k and had started saving money. I then came about the Citizen range of chrono's and I was impressed. They alarm was of at most importance to me. I did not have any specific use for it, but a analog watch having a alarm was something new to me. Here are some of the factors that I think resulted in my getting the watch I have
Tissot - leather strap , T-touch was too expensive ( 30k)
Morellato - dint like the design, was too much in gold and brown
Titan - no alarm chrono ( the retrogade series wasn't out then )
Timex - too small for the wrist
Police - liked it at first , but then looked like stone-age model when compared to the citizen range
Seiko - too expensive ( 30k )
Finally Last October I got the watch
https://citizenwatches.co.in/corpbuy.aspx?itemid=261&Page=3
its as described in the webpage and suits anyone with a slightly large frame. Its a total standout among other watches ( unless its a tag heuer or a longines pro master )
The watch has 3 modes ( alarm, chrono and local time )
alrm mode is self explainatory
chrono mode is also self explanatory
local time - u can have 2 time ranges on your watch if you travel in different time zones frequently.
It has a Date, month and leap year notification but no actual year notification and day notification whatso ever which is a little disappointing. The alarm is not very loud and stops automatically after 15 seconds.
Time setting is easy and u don't have to keep twisting the crown. a single twist will initiate a continuous turn in the hands and u can stop by twisting once again. every small twist will take the hand forward of backward accordingly.
The watch in steel suits all occasions and times and is not restricted to any particular outfit. It comes with a crystal glass cover and boy it can bear some damage and end up with a minor negligible scratch on the glass - which for me is a huge plus.
All in all - the watch is worth its money and comes with a 3 year 3 month 3 day warranty.
