I am having a credit card from Citibank. For the last one year I am having problem in getting my statement details. Sometimes they send and sometimes they don't...They even charge if u haven't paid for the statement.. which u haven't received. They say that my address is wrong..but sends a duplicate statement in that very same address which reaches me properly.
On October I have asked them for sending my statements through e-mail. They agreed.. and started sending e-mail which do not have any detailed billing... only the amount you need to pay to the bank. (Now it can be anything... from a insurance premium to accident coverage.. which u have never asked and the bank does by itself for the benefit of their customers :))
On December I asked them again to send me the detailed billing, which they said that they will send from the next month i.e Jan 2003. On Feb 15 when I have asked why they haven't sent me the Jan details... they said I have asked for a e-mail statemnt on Jan19th. So it should start only from Feb 2003 :))) Now ... from Jan17th I was not in the town. so no way I have called up Citibank to change my details on that day. I conveyed the whole thing to indiaservices citibank. I am attaching the mail below
Dear Mr. Mondal,
We are sorry that one of our associates has mis-informed you. We thank you for your feedback . We will definitely look into this and ensure that such incidents are not repeated.
Our records indicate that the statement on email facility has been maintained with effect from 26.10.2002. We have been sending the statement through email with effect from October 2002. We request you to confirm your correct email address for us to investigate the matter.
We have now arranged to send statements to your mailing address and to your eMail address.
Warm Regards,

......Now here the executive says.. that I am supposed to get my detailed statement from October 2003 onwards...:)))
Now whom to beleive in this bank. ....??? And moreover in this bank... they charge you if you go to the bank personally...You have to either call them up, or send them an e-mail... and beleive whatever they say on the face value...:)) Do you really need that headache... After all its a bank where all your money lies...
And please do not attach your credit card with ur savings account. That will be the most foolish thing to do with this bank. Once they even charged me with a insurance premium, which I have never asked from them. The business tactics is u r first charged the insurance premium. In case you do not call them up and say u do not want it... means u r accepting the insurance. U start paying the insurance premium without even knowing the terms and condition of the insurance. Please be very very very careful with this bank if u r dealing with them.
