Needless to say it is the worst bank not just in India but in US as well. there services are just poor. they do not have proper process in place. I am linked with citibank through various channels.


a. credit card


b. suvidha account.


c. car loan.


i face a new problem with these every now and then.... the list is too long so lemme just tell abt my recent problem with citibank.


i receieved a letter from citibank to send them ID proof documents for my suvidha account as per RBI Guidelines. I sent them the documents on time and couple of days later I received SMS that my documents have been recieved and are in process. but at this time I did not realize that my account will still be closed. yes my account was closed 10 days after they recieved my documents.


then I had to face hell of problem just due to that and I had to spent half of my office hours in just getting my account reactivated which took around 4 days to get activiated.


the first reason they gave me for account closing was that they did not receive my documents on time. I sent them the track result from the courier company. Now they changed the reason and said that the department which recieves your papers and the department which closes the account are different so it takes time and they the account closing department could not recieve the documents on time they closed it.


now guys tell me whose problem is this.


some of other issues with citibank I faced




  1. Issued Credit Card which I never wanted.




  2. Issued Ready Credit Facility into my Suvidha Account which I did not ask for and I was charged more than 1000 rupees for the activation and for the interest.




  3. Issued me Shoppers Stop Debit Card instead of normal Debit Card and charge 350 rupees




  4. Though I hold corporate account they charged me rupees 50 for using the shared ATM.




  5. They Misplaced my car loan ECS papers and charged me late fee for not receiving the EMI for my car loan.




  6. I got my address changed for my Car Loan but they are still sending all documents to my previous address.




  7. Many times they charge unncessary amount into my suvidha account.




  8. Customer Care Executives are often rude with customers.




  9. They commit they will get back to you on your query but they never.




  10. many more.






hope this helps some of the guys to avoid using citibank....
