Hi, I am holding a Citibank Suvidha account for the past three years. I am surprised to see so many negative reviews on a bank as good as citibank. I guess people tend to share negative experiences more than positive ones. Anyways, here is my review on citibank.


Positives:


Net banking tops the list here. Their net banking system is very efficient and far more advanced than any other bank in India. U can get things done at the click of a button where as with any other bank u will have to either visit the branch or follow up with them making numerous phone calls.


Transperency is next. No false charges till date and also they deliver their promises. Never had any problem with getting things done. Also, once I updated my number in their'do not disturb' database, there was not even a single product promotion calls from the bank.


Efficiency and user friendliness too makes this bank impressive. Their completely online credit card application procedure is indeed completely online and not just a false promise as I have found out by getting a gold card.


Security: They are among the first ones to implement virtual keyboard to enter ur netbanking password which prevents unauthorized access to ur password using key logging software. Also their Online authorization code is one of its kind in protecting the customer's interests.


I have not used the phone banking much so I dont want to comment on it.


The helpdesk on phone can get under ur skin at times but if u know how to use the online banking efficiently, then u dont ever have to contact the helpdesk on phone.


Negatives:


Only one negative experience so far:


I had a telemarketing call by a citibank rep when I had just got my account opened through my employer and she managed to sell a grocery card to me by some fast talk( I was new to handling telemarketing calls at that time:) ) . I never used it but when I found out that there is an annual fee of around 350/- for that card, I immediately called the bank and got the card cancelled which was again promptly done.


So, overall, I must say it has been a positive experience with citibank so far and also I am using their credit card service which has been quite satisfactory till now.
