Citibank face very limited amount of branches in India. Even city wise they have at most one or two. They believe in providing all kind of services via online including the address change, mobile number change, loan approval, request for cheque book and many more services are online. But the bad part is there's lots of hidden charges and their rules regulation and policies related to your bank account are not very transparent. Customer care is not very helpful and every time you may not get a resolution from there side.
Now something very strange is there policies related to salary account and savings account. Say for example you are working with a company and you have a salary account of Citibank with the same company and you resigned from the company. In this situation in case you are going to some other company you cannot really get the existing Citibank account with the new company in fact you will have to open a new City bank account. So you will lose all your communication with the previous Citibank account, that is in such circumstances you will have to maintain multiple accounts with Citibank. The minimum amount that you need to keep with Citibank is your one lakh per month. By any chance if it is below than this on an average for a month they deduct 850+ service tax on your account and customer care people do not listen to the concert at all. Citibank simple it keeps on waiting for an instance where they can put an excess of charges by applying some hidden policy. I will not encouraged anyone to have a account with Citibank especially if it's a salary account.
