I have been using Citibank MasterCard that is co-branded with Shoppers Stop/ Home Stop.
I use this card for all purposes, that means for groceries, utility bills, petrol, Tatasky, car insurance, air ticket, everything. Whenever I have to make a payment, I ask if credit card payment is acceptable(without any additional charges).
I get 1 pt. on every Rs. 100 spent. And 1 pt. is equivalent to 70 paise. I know it sounds very meager. But I use this card just everywhere, in the end I accumulate sufficient points to spend at Shoppers Stop or Home Stop. I am, as it is doing all those expenditures. So if I acquire points and am able to get variety of things from Home Stop n Shoppers Stop once or twice a year, I feel that is an added bonus.:)
I make sure, I always make full payment, 3-4 days before due date of credit card, that too online. So, I don't even have to go anywhere to pay credit card bill. I have applied for emailed bill, instead of hard copy. That way, I have all my bills on email and I have no paper bills to keep. I find this whole system hassle free.
Also, from time to time, I keep an online check on my credit card statement. I have registered most of my utility bills with Citibank. So, I am able to pay every utility bill, on Citibank site, with just one click, even if I am abroad. For the remaining utility bills, I just visit their sites and pay by credit card.
If I have any doubt or problem, I login my account and send them a query. I receive a satisfactory reply from them. I do not call them as I always want everything in writing.
I am very happy with my Citibank Credit Card. I had been offered this card with zero joining fee. And later annual charges were waived off, probably depending upon my usage.:)
