Trashy. That is one word and one way to describe this film glossy.
Worthless, shabby, shoddy and sleazy are the other meanings to
the word and they fit aptly to the magazine as well.
The life of film stars ain't all gossip. There is much more to them than sleeping with co-actors and bitching about competition. But all that this magazine subscribes to is the above. The scandal stories more than often have no real truth in them.
Even if they do, it is not admitted to and sounds more a figment of imagination of the writer himself. Every interview with extra efforts is made into a gossip piece. The headlines chosen highlight points which are usually not so relevant in the copy of the article inside. The pictures used are nothing to write home about either including the ones used as the cover.
Usually there are these high scandal stories published without names. How is a lay person to guess who is the writer trying to talk about? If one knew so much about the stars - then why would one need to read a film magazine? Wouldn't one be writing for one already.
The magazine also has a television section which is better than the film section. It features favourite tele stars that one doesn't get to know much about otherwise. The magazine is neither exciting, informative or glossy. All said and bitched, it just is trashy.
