CLHT directed by Sangeet shivan is a half baked suspense thriller that may hold your attention with a couple of interesting scenes at places
The Cast
Zayed Khan is more comfortable doing dance and Action than doing emotional scenes, but as a debutant he has done justice to his role
Esha Deol is average and has gone over board in some scenes
Salil Ankola has come up with a decent controlled performance
Other Cast is equally impressive with Gulshan, Vijay raaz, & Rakhi Sawant (She is over exposed)
The Crew
Although CLHT has some good twists and turns it lacks the punch throughout, the reason for this is the lack of good script. Although the movie is projected as a love story as the title says its more like an action thriller, the romantic moments are very few.
Cinematography & background score gets full marks in the Technical side
Editing is loose as there are too many songs in first half which is not required
Music is average with Title track and “Mirchi” stands out.
The Director
Sangeet Shivan who has some good Malayalam flicks in his credit including super hits “Yodha” and “Gandharvam”. He has made his Hindi debut with ZOR earlier which didn’t create any impact at BOX OFFICE. Now he is back with CHTN has treated the film as a Suspense Thriller. The Songs and Action are shot well, The Pre-climax is executed well.
The director was not able to keep the pace throughout in the movie. At places the movie really holds the attention of the viewer, It would have been better if he had made the movie a complete thriller. Sangeet Shivan had definitely improved a lot compare to Zor.
Overall
CHTN has all elements that an average viewer wants, its also the launch of another star-son Zayed Khan. But he lacks the charisma of Hrithik also the film lacks fizz that “kaho Na Pyaar hai “ had. CLHT is an average film with some interesting moments. Watch it if you are a die-hard fan of Suspense Thrillers or you don’t have any better work. In shot CHTN maybe beneficial for three people - Zayed Khan – A New Star, Salil Ankola – A character artist & Rakhi Sawant – New Seductress
