I have tried to get so many people among my relatives and friends into this college including my own sister for their Post Graduate programs. Some of my friends who have 90%+ score, who also did well in the interview didn't get selected to their MSc, MCom programs. They chose Jain University, Mount Carmel kind of colleges and they're glad that they didn't get into an institute like Christ now.
After all the attempts and hearing from several other people, what I got to know is, these people are conducting these eyewash selection processes just to make some money in the name of application fees. They take 1000 Rs. fees per application, if just 10, 000 people apply for all the courses they offer across, +2, UG and PG levels, they will make 1 Crore Rs.! But, I think at least some 50, 000 people will apply every year as they have so many different disciplines and courses. So, they make around 5 Crore Rs. every year in the name of application and selection process.
Because of this kind of corruption in their system, Christ University has been awarded a'B' grade by NAAC recently. Government and UGC should step in and revoke the minority institution status along with the deemed university status for this institute(It doesn't deserve to be called as an university). This institute should be put back under Bangalore University till all the corruption in selection and administration is eradicated. At least Bangalore University can put the same money into improving other government colleges to make quality education reach to the people who really deserve it.
