Milan Luthria’s latest offering “ Chori Chori’ is all for u if u have a sweet tooth,Candy Floss, saccharine sweet n extremely predictable all thank to the free training we have all so generously received 4m the queen of soap’s herself Miss .Ektha Kapoor,.Finally all my ‘K’ TV watching finally paid off…
The story begins with Khushi(Rani Mukerji) who is an orphan who is raised by wedding singers. True to her name, Khushi is all spunk n cheer, spreading the smiles n sowing the happy feeling where she goes…Ranbir is urs truly (Ajay Devgan) who after a failed love affair with the irrestibley cute Pooja(sonali Bendre),his childhood friend ,moves to Delhi from Shimla leaving behind a host of memories and a dreams and a beautiful house.Khushi and ranbir meet at a party and then the story carries on from there.Khushi being turned out by her boss, decided to shift Bag n baggage to shimla posing as the ‘ to be’ Mrs. Rambir Malhotra only to be heartily accepted by his friends and family(AKA our ‘k” serials)…when Pooja gets to know of the impending supposed marriage, her usually cool,rosey exterior starts to fluctuate between shades of” teary” grey to a “envious” green. Khushi strikes gold as Ranbir to get Pooja back “hires” Khushi as his girlfriend.WAT happens later ?
The story however predictable and standoffish it may seem, I must admit there is a fresh feel to it . It is simply a case of flow along with the tide , it is a very pleasant journey .Rani Mukerji is a dream, she fits the role to the T and simply stands tall through out the movie. Ajay devgan his usual, dependable self, intensity is his ‘baiyen haath ka khel’ so he plays Ranbir perfectly too.Sonali looks a million bucks must say. The locales, after years n years of the ‘ videshi’ mountains ab baari hai ‘taaze’ shimla ki.IT is swesome, the music quite hummable.On the whole, this movie chori chori aapka dil churayega.
