I live in Gurgaon and wanted to buy a washing machine desperately, the reason being the Samsung washing machine I had bought just 3 years back stopped working and the service centre very clearly said that the model is outdated and no spare parts are available. I was pretty disappointed as I had paid 13k for the washing machine.
So I went to Spencers on MG Road to hunt for a new one. As usual there were plenty of washing machines displayed with sales guys trying to woo their customers. I saw Samsung and Whirlpool side by side and was debating as to which one to go for. I already lost my faith in Samsung products so I was looking at Whirlpool more when the Samsung sales guy started talking about the virtues and benefits of this particular washing machine. There were also some posters hanging around saying "Samsung Griha Pravesh ho Khushiyon ka" and Assured Offer on every purchase - Flipkart vouchers up to 1500 and Goibibo vouchers up to 4900".
The sales guy started his sales talk with me about the assured gifts and foolishly I opted for the Samsung w.machine. The guy said that the coupons are not available right now and he will give me a call as soon as he gets it within one week. And the nightmare started for me as I waited patiently for a week for that call which never came, so I called up Spencers for almost 10 times and had to wait for almost one month to get the coupons after chasing relentlessly. I finally got it, that too when I threatened to go to consumer court that Spencers is in co-hoots with Samsung cheating its loyal customers.
After reaching home, I opened the coupons and found to my shock that there were no special promotion code written in any of the pages and at the back of each coupon had many rules that only SBI card holders can use, blah, blah. I thought lets check the Goibibo voucher and try to get a discount but found to my surprise that the public too are getting the same discounts on their website as me.
So friends, you can see from this that its all a gimmick to make customers buy their products and in fact it is cheating the public with false pitches and take all of us for a ride. Now I am unable to use any of the vouchers as I am not SBI cardholder. It is terrible to see how these giant foreign MNC companies take over a major chunk of the business with such kind of cheap attitude never thinking that as a customer I would never again buy another product of Samsung and never again will I buy consumer durables from Spencers.
A highly disappointed Samsung & Spencers customer!
