I was shocked when I came to know about the spyware.
Like most of us I was thinking that I need not worry about spyware.(afterall who on earth would like to know my details) It was my opinion that people who do a lot of credit card transactions on the net should be careful. I was much relaxed because I was not avoiding credit card transactions on the net.
I came to know that spyware can even log keys(whatever you type) and send the reports to specific locations or email without my knowledge which means somebody would be using your own computer to spy you!
Mostly there are these spyware cookies which tract your internet usage and history. This they do like a market research but it is illegal to smuggle your personal details which can be misused in any way. There are some software which in the hands of wrong people can get us into a lot of problems and cause embarassment.
The best way to prevent the spyware is to increase the security levels of your browser(internet explorer or Netscape) but always you should use a very good anti spyware. Otherwise your system is not secure even on a lan.
The best anti spyware in my opinion is Spybot search and destroy. It has features to block certain sites and shred confidential files and live update. It is more effective than most of the other spyware in cleaning spyware and protecting your computer.
And the best part is that it is totally free. It has been designed by Mr. Patrick, a student of applied computer science. He is doing it as a free service(live updates also). But if you want to donate money for his cause(anti spyware) you can do so.
So what are you waiting for. Go ahead install spybot and stay secure.
