I hesitatingly bought a Nokia E71 as I had read many reviews that said it isn't that great. Since it was choice between that or Nokia N79 I chose this because of its sleek look and wifi and GPS facilities. I bought it almost 4 months back and I must say I am highly satisfied by the phone overall. Though some useful small facilities are missing overall its great. One thing good is the voice assisted GPS- I used it within my city to and from from work and its highly effective! In fact recently I got a flat tyre in the middle of the city on a Sunday. I asked few people around where could I get my tyre changed and they did not know.
So I searched for the various car repair shops on the GPS, found the nearest one (I hadn't the faintest idea where it was) and activated the GPS and lo and behold I was efficiently voice guided by it through the most narrow and crowded lanes of the city where I had never been before! And I couldn't have come out of it either without it for it was like a maze inside. and Another feature I really liked is the wifi when I dont want to handle my lappy its easy to log in through the phone just lying down. It has quick office that is relatively fast. Most of its function is very easy. I also find its caller name announcing facility very useful especially when I am driving; when it rings inside my bag, I know who it is so can decide to stop and receive the call or let it be and call later.
I also found that the video quality is excellent. Few things that were disappointing were that sound is relatively low in volume, vibration is not at all effective even when its right in front of u unless u have it in your hand. Messaging used to be easier with recently used numbers visible in other versions which seem to have been removed from this model. But on the whole I am quite satisfied and the fear of 'hanging' that I had after reading other reviews has not been a major issue till now and hopefully wont be too. So its a good buy and one can go for it.
