Everyday you see advertisements in newspapers about cheap chinese touch phones and also with QUARTY keys. Online shopping sites are flooded with such chinese cheap phones.
Before you buy these phones I think you should ask following questions to yourself:
1) Whether you will use the phone in India or also abroad.
GSM Unlocked Quadband phone works in most of the countries. So go for this.
2)FM and TV reception in the chinese phones is pathetic. TV signal you will never get and the FM will never work inside the house, unless the signal is real powerful.
3) The 3.5 inch and 2.8 inch cloned iphones do not come with stylus. You have to operate with fingers. There is no place to keep the stylus and even if you buy one, you have to keep it separately.
4) WIFI and GPRS in chinese phones works well.
5) Voice reception is also good
6) The phone book does not have facility to write addresses. So you will not be able to make full use of the phone.
7) There is no notepad provided. So you remain deprived of making notes and scribbling your shopping lists.
8) Most of the chinese phones have MTK processor and use nucleus operating system. You will not get much software for these platforms.
9) The camera MP(megapixels mentioned in advertisements is totally fake. These cameras have capability of shooting in VGA and below 1 MP only, even when they advertise 2 MP and 3 MP. Flash is useless.
10) There is no phone number redial function.
So, next time you see and advertisement of a chinese phone, don't get carried away. First see what is your requirement. If you want a mobile phone for taking photos.never buy chinese phone.
If your requirement is to use it as a plain phone with storage of only the telephone numbers with names, then chinese phones are the best option for you as they are cheap.
If you wish to use it as phone without address, without redial, with GPRS, with WIFI, without notepad, without stylus, with nonworking TV and FM, you can buy chinese phones that cost about Rs. 6, 500. The WIFI is good.
Many phones will not have operations manual in english. So, you have to struggle to learn its operations.
Many icons on the screen look impressive, but many have same functions.so don't think there are too many facilities looking at the large number of icons.
