I knew I shouldn't have got that connection again. I'd had bad experience three months earlier. I had taken a 512 kbps connection and they produced a bill worth Rs.9000 after 3 months. Atleast the connection was constant. That was the only reason I had applied for their connection again. This time I chose a Unlimited 256 connection and their service was prompt. Of course, they wanted the money. This salesman came, filled out the application, and took my money and left. A week later my connection was installed. The wiring was messy, amateur, and the modem and earth equipment looked like it was designed by a novice engineering student.
I was hooked online. For about 3 days. The following day, I switched on the computer to find the internet not accessible. I made my first complaint. They gave me my complaint number and I waited. A week passed. No replies. I made a complaint. Got another complaint number. This time the service man came and fixed the connection. There was a problem in the server. I kept quiet.
In the weeks to follow, I made more complaints to Tata Indicom than I would have made to my girlfriend. The internet was so bad that I gave up in November. All this time, they had never sent a single bill. Everytime I would ask them to send a bill, they would tell me they would send a person to collect the money. Fine with me. But the guy never came. Finally the guy came to collect the modem after the disconnection. I reminded him to send someone to collect the money for the rather'excellent' connection. They never turned up. No calls from Tata Indicom. I didn't bother. They want their money, they better send someone.
Today, I get a legal notice from Devi Associates on part of VSNL. It seems I have not paid the bills intentionally, and I'm subject to IPC 420. It suprises that these 'einsteins' at Tata Indicom had my address to send a legal notice but they couldn't use that address to send a damn bill!
I will be going tomorrow to straighten this situation. I shall fill in tomorrow.
For God's sake, don't take a Tata Indicom services! They k!
