Misbehaving dealer at Competent Automobiles CP. Review on Choosing a Car Dealer

I am a software engineer working in a reputed firm. My father is a retired govt. employee of BSES(formerly DESU).

We applied for Car Loan from ICICI bank Ltd through a person working in Competent Autombiles Co Ltd, Connaught Place.

I told him that my father is waiting for the cheque to be given by BSES(as he has taken VRS) and this may take some time, may be between one to two months.

He said this is not a problem and we will be given the old Maruti Zen Rates even if we take delivery after the rates have been increased.He started taking the documents, advance booking payment

(Rs. 15000) and PDC's.

As we are not aware of the internal procedures of ICICI bank, he befooled us.

The Loan repayment started in Jan 2004 itself and we were not aware of it.

It was really surprising that we have still not taken the car and we have started paying off the Loan. This is really bad.

Now in Feb 2004, when my father got the VRS payment(for verification you can check his ICICI acct), We went to Competent(Conaaught Place). We were given a great welcome there in terms of misbehaviour. Water and tea arevery far, we were not even spoken softly by the dealer of Competent(Connaught Place).

He revoked to his earlier promise that we will be delivered the Zen at Old prices(as we booked it in Old Price).

But now he said on 9th Feb 2004 that we wil have to pay the new prices.

We were shocked. This statement could be made to understand in a better and behavioural way. But he insulted my father and thrown the file in front of my father that he will not deliver the card to

us.

Anyhow one employee of ICICI(Jhandewalan Branch) came in between and cooled us who actually introduced us to dealer of Competent(ICICI).

Now we agreed to pay the hiked prices also. Now when we were just leaving the Competent on 9/02/2004. My father was crossing the room of that dealer. He was laughing on us(taking our name) that he has done a great job of insulting us and even they we have taken the delivery.

Moreover he said'Jisko complaint karni hai kardo, Main to aisa hi hoon'

I think this person has some personal issues with competent(C.P.) and is trying to give abad impression of Competent(C.P.)

Persons like this should not stay in Public Relations. My father is heart patient. We could not speak more as he can't tolerate the'Dhokdhadi' and insulting behaviour. So I just kept quiet.

After 2-3 days, we got calls from competent that we sholud go for'2 Yrs Extended Warranty' at dicounted prices.

I asked her to send any person, she agreed to it. No body turned up. Now when we went to Competent(C.p. branch).

That dealer did not speak to us. So we spoke to a lady. She took cheque for Rs. 3270(dt. 17/02/2004) which was reduced price as we get the car financed by ICICI. We got the Extended warranty papers and went home.

That Dealer did not give us the RC. At the time of delivery, he said we will have to collect it after 15 days. But When We met Manager, Competent Automobiles Ltd., C.P.branch)on 17/02/2004, telling the behaviour of the dealer. He was really surprised that we have not still got the RC.

He entertained us in a proper way and brought the RC to us. He is a nice man.

Now after 2 months on 5th April 2004, I got a call from Competent(C.P.) that I was not under the scheme and I need to pay more otherwise my'2 Yrs Extended Warranty' would be cancelled.

What should we do now please guide us.
