Cook her dinner at home. This doesn’t mean home made bhel puri and it doesn’t have to be a six-course meal either. You need to do it all…from shopping, to the cooking, to the clean up. Use the good china, candles, and take the kids to your mother’s house for the evening. She will appreciate all of the work and thought you put into this event. After dinner, snuggle on the couch with a good movie and a bowl of popcorn.
A movie of her choice. This means no blood and guts movie, (unless that is what she prefers). The point here is to let her pick a movie that she wants to see and that you stay awake for it so that when she wants to discuss it later, you’ll know what she is talking about. One chick flick won’t harm you, so sit back and remember that you’re doing this for her!
Send your partner flowers. If she is at work, have them sent to the office. Women love surprises, and there is nothing more wonderful than getting flowers to set on your desk! girls love to get flowers at work and I always tell my freinds that girld want my flowers while theycan still enjoy them. Be sure to include a personal card that declares your feelings of love.
For a something different, send your love a bouquet of balloons tied on to a big box of chocolates. This is a fun alternative to flowers and can even be added to a smaller flower arrangement.
Write her a poem…it doesn’t have to be original(although that would be nice). If you can’t come up with one on your own, find a poem or writing that captures your feelings for her. Women love the written word…it touches us in a way that nothing else can. One of my favorite sonnets is by Pablo Neruda. If you saw the movie Patch Adams, it is the one that Patch recites to his girlfriend. I cry every time I read this sonnet.

The important thing is that when you are with someone you love, you create an environment that makes your partner feel special and loved.
