Ladies are more image conscious. They spend more time in looking
attractive. Some ladies like to look more decent. This is not necessarily
related to age. This has more bearing on the way they have been brought
up by their parents. You have to analyse the lady(your wife) from various angles
like:
Whether she is accepting whatever you present to her irrespective of whether it is
to her taste or not. In such cases, you have to secretly assess her tastes by taking time
to discuss with her about her past, how she used to do shopping, who does the shopping for her
when she was a child and till marriage, how she used to celebrate her birthday etc. All this has to be done
without making her aware that you are enquiring.
In my personal case, I have married my cousin and I have seen her growing. Still I did not have an
idea as to her likings and dislikings. So, after marriage, I spent a lot of time asking her to explain
about her childhood. During my discussion, I understood that she loved me so much that she does not mind about her
choice but like whatever I give. I could not digest this. So, initially, I bought some gifts for her birthday celebration
and observed her feelings and comments made casually. I noticed that she is accepting the gifts just because she loved my so much.
So, once I took her to shop to buy a sari for her on one of her birthdays. I selected four sarees of my choice and let her choose
the best out of them telling that I liked all of them and I could afford any one of them. She then came out selected the one
she liked the most. This has satisfied her ego as well as her wish that the gift is to my choice.
I follow this method for every occasion to buy her a gift.
