Hush little baby!. Review on Choosing Gifts for a New Born Baby

I just had a baby boy and received tons of gifts in my Baby Shower and after the birth of the baby. I am actually still getting them.

But  most of the gifts were repeated. Clothes are big size(will have to use when baby will turn at least 1 year). Toys are for toddler age.

I had to buy almost everything for the baby and the stack of gifts is still safe in my closet.

So here I came up with some ideas which in my opinion can be useful for future Mom and Papa.

*On The Baby shower:

Well the Bundle of joy is still on the way so bring something which he will need at the time of birth.

Receiving Blankets and layettes: can be good cotton ones, fleece, or any soft material to hold the soft cotton bundle in the hands for first time.

New Born Size Caps, Booties and Mittens:  This is something our new baby wears very first. Later it can be kept as momentum.

Baby Bath Set: can be  soft towel and wash cloth or  bath robe.

New born Size Clothes:

There is no need to spend more on new born clothes as our baby is going to be  big within 15 days when grand ma will give her massage.

New Born Baby Cosmetic kit: Baby powder, Baby Soap, Baby body wash, Baby shampoo, Baby wash cloth,  Baby oil,  Baby diaper rash cream most important, baby lotion, Baby face cream and Vaseline petroleum jelly.

New Born Baby  Health Kit: Baby Nail clipper, Thermometer, Ear buds  and Dettol or any antiseptic solution.

Some more gifts which can be given in Baby shower are

Crib

Bouncer or Rocker with vibrator

Swing with music and sensor if baby cries

Crib toys

Night light

Baby Book

Bibs

Photo frames etc

The time is here to now visit sweet princess or prince. And the question is here what to give?

Here I came up with some things I needed for my baby

Diaper bag

Bath Tub

Baby Gymnasium

Baby’s musical toys( no small items please that can enter there mouth)

Lullaby’s cassettes and CDs

A handy small movable drawer or cupboard: for baby’s stuff

Humidifier(to keep baby away from congestion of chest)

Baby Monitor is very useful device and a must . Remember never talk secret stuff in the baby room if the monitor is on and the other part is in the living room . It amplifies the conversation and makes it awkward sometimes in front of others in the family.

Some outside clothes: according to weather: 4-5 suits, jackets, sweaters, socks etc.

This time we can give some big size clothes as baby will grow very fast.

Baby gear or sling: to carry baby like a kangaroo. Best in Indian settings .

Stroller(pram)

Baby Bottles and nipples sets

Baby utensils: plate, spoons, bowl, glass, sipper, cups and bibs.

Pacifiers, Rattlers, Teether etc

Baby Bottle and Food warmer

Baby formula and food cans

Toys for growing Baby

Last not the least

Diapers and baby wipes: this is something we can give anytime, any size and any quantity. Always remember do not compromise with brands and price when it comes to baby diapers and wipes. Always take a good quality soft diaper.

This time I can remember only this much as my baby is only 4 month. I will slightly come to know what comes next around baby’s birthday.

So next time when you are going say hello to a new cutie pie make sure you are not taking something which he or she is not going to use for next 6 months.
