Choosing right college. Review on Choosing College

I am not writing this review with particular to any one college. The main idea here is choosing among many autonomous colleges. This is written just to help students who want to enroll themselves in Autonomous colleges for MBA. The so called B-schools.

There are lot of B-Schools that are mushrooming in the cities. Most people who come to cities like bangalore, hyderabad , Delhi in search of Good colleges are easily taken for a ride. People dont know the city well and very few people have little idea of how the colleges fool you around taking your money..

So here are certain precautions:

• Before choosing a college check out what its ranked among the B-schools.

My word is never join a college which is not listed. Chances are that you end up simply pouring your money and getting nothing in return.

• Go speak to couple of students. atleast 3-4 of them from the college. Not the management staffs they never say anything bad about the college.

  
  




• Dont get easily fooled by list of companies posted into their website.

  
  

What happens is its all fake. Many Top Companies never visit small colleges, unless they are reputed college like IIM, IIPM etc.

• Speak to few locals about the type of colleges in that city that is good.

-Observe the selection procedure. Some colleges gives admissions for all. They wont conduct any further rounds and each Tom Dick and Harry is given admission. This is sure a Fall trap.

• Observe the way people communicate (Students in the college). Most MBA colleges are good for presentation, so observe the way students speak.

-List a few top colleges from the city , never compromise on education especially Post Graduation Courses, because they are called Professional courses.

• Many colleges Dont have Permanent teaching faculty and many such colleges dont complete the sylabbus at all in most of the cases.(These colleges want to make money and nowhere Quality Educations is given)

-Whats the Maximum-Minimum - Salary offered when hired on campus. How many students have got that is important. They try to wave away telling our students got this much and that much but its not always true. Take Majority into consideration at this point.

• Many colleges tell in the beginning Course material is free, but its not. They only give you The sylabus copy and no text books or at the most even Xerox copies are charged. This information you can get from the students ask them.

-Many computers in the computer lab doesnt work...anyways (They are just kept to impress)

-When you are joining any Autonomous colleges - make sure you do a thorough research. on all therse.

-apart all these The Hostel fees they charge are heavy and what they even promise to refund the advance when one vacates but the fate is its never paid back. They tell its part of maintainence at the end (to be frank no maintenance is done)

-Some colleges simply charge hefty fees in the final semesters too- but hardly any subjects are thought..
