Chitrakot waterfall is known as the Indian Niagra. It is the largest waterfall in entire Asia. It is situated 40kms away from the city, Jagdalpur. There are local taxis, bus services from Jagdalpur to Chitrakoot thus making accessibility pretty easy.

Railings have been built so that the tourists can't go more than a safe distance. Moreover, there are always local tourists who know the safe distance. They always warn others if they are unsafe. The boating is safe only in winter and summer seasons. There are life jackets available. In monsoon season the riverside gets flooded and boating is strictly banned during monsoon.
