Have always been fascinated about the epic of Ramayana. So while visiting my native place Jhansi I made a plan with my family to visit Chitrakoot which was quiet happily accepted by everyone. There are temples, temples and more temples within Chitrakoot. Every place has a importance of its own. The legend Ramayana has that Lord Ram stayed with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman during there exile. And it was this place where Bharata came to take Lord Ram back to Ayodhya. Legends apart this place is quiet beautiful. If you are religiously inclined then this place is for you.
The only problem you might face is the lack of proper transport. Also this place do not have quality hotels to stay in. The people around here are quiet helpful and will provide you with details about the various mythological stories. It was a great experience and learned a lot from this place. We visited this place in April but locals say Oct and Nov are best to visit.
