We have visited CMH multiple times and experience has been very mixed. Hospital gets good number of patient in out door, that means your wait time may be long. Cost is very reasonable compare to other (more?) reputed hospitals in Bangalore.
However, your experience may vary depending on the doctor you see. One doctor I would like to specifically mention is Dr. Prabha Nambiar of OBG. My wife was very happy with her interaction with Dr. Prabha and I always found my wife happy and statisfied and less worried after every visit to Dr. Prabha (unless in many other doctor visits she becomes very unhappy because doctor prescribed medicines which has side affects but never discussed etc). Both my children was born here and had normal delivery. I am sorry to say but these days medical profession has become so much of business (sometimes unethical). From our interaction and experience with Dr. Prabha, I can definitely say your do not have to worry about this angle if you are consulting her.
At the same we had negative experience as well; one experience I would like to mention is one of my cousin had throat infection and has consulted an ENT doc in CMH. Doctor suggested surgery to remove tonsils. He was admitted and went ahead with the surgery (whereas I am not qualified to comment about the surgery) and surgery was scheduled next day at 9.00 am.
However next morning when I reached at 9.00, my cousin was already taken for surgery. Whereas there was no complication, few things I did not like are
Doctor/hospital stuff never discussed cost before the surgery, yes my cousin did not ask either.
Doctor told us, he has used some sort of laser procedure for the surgery that had cost few thousand extra. Options of type of surgery was never mentioned before the surgery and pros and cons were not discussed.
Cost of Laser equipment/consultant had to be paid to the doctor directly; apparently doctor has arranged this from outside. I think hospital should have better process/control on this type of extra needs.
Over all I would say depending on the doctor you are seeing it may a good or not so good experience but you may want to take feedback on specific doctor you are visiting.
