This is the review for china garden at hotel ashok which opened recently.went there on 14 Feb. Do make reservation in advance.there was quite a noisy crowd on that day and it seemed all the uncles and aunties had come with their whole neighborhood to celebrate valentine's day.i wish people learned to talk softly.any ways, we were seated and water served, and then for 10 minutes nothing.the service was damn too slow. We ordered the mun chow thong soup and barbecued chicken wanton soup, both were quite good.we are not very heavy eaters and thus, ordered only kung pao prawns and noodles, and waited for quite some time before we were served, both the items were tasty and proportions were good. And, for desserts, we ordered chocolate mousse and mango pudding, and loved both of them absolutely.the food was very reasonably priced, with taxes, without alcohol, came to 1700/.
The soups were priced between 165- 200 something.the chocolate mousse was for 165, mango pudding for 210. In fact, taxes were more.except for the service, i would go there once again but frankly speaking, i know the prices would be same and the venue wouldn't be a 5* hotel, i prefer the cosy environs of the chinese at cp. After this, you can go to tees january marg and have a paan at panditji's. Quite expensive, but there would be no other place where you would get a good paan at that hour(12 midnight).good mix of indian and chinese.
Go there once, the decor is good, children love the fish swimming in the water body.good experience at reasonable price.
