Hi All..Some of your might have read my earlier review on Chevrolet's Aveo U-VA (Spacious car with good mileage)...this review is an extension to the previous one. I wanted to share my Experience at the GM's Gurgaon service station APEX AUTO in udyog vihar. Its now 11 months that I have owned this car ad the ODO meter shows a reading of 10000 Kms. I visited the Service station for the Second Service of my vehicle. There were a couple of common issues that needed fine tuning and regular service. The job was done and I took the car bck in the evening. While driving Back I felt that the car was speeding a little too much on even a slight press of the Accelerator and if I released the same it would start giving jerks in the 2nd gear. I drove the car for another day and could not adjust to the new speed levels, so I decided to take the car back for a check up. At the servive station the next morning the technicians were very courteous and  examined the car on priority, took it for a test drive and reported that the same needed some fine tuning and that the car would be ready by after noon. When I contacted them I was told that they are not able to identify the problem and that neverthe less the car would be ready by eveninig. I again called up in the evening and was told that they are still not able to resolve the problem and that I would have to leave the car at the station for a day. I had some urgent work and so I asked them to give me the car and that I would bring the car back the next day. By the end of next day I was informed car is ready, on asking they told me that the computerized environment of the car had developed some tech snag and a key component had to be replaced. The cost of the component was Rs. 22000 but since the car was in warranty the same has been replaced free of cost.  I was happy and sad at the same time. Happy because I have never come across a service station which has replaced a componenet free of cost forget about the cost, and sad because a car just 10 months old developed such a snag, raising questions on its reliability. I collected the car in the evening and as I drove it a couple of metres I noticed that the Yellow light (Which sould switch off after the engine starts) did not switch off, indicating that there was some fault in the electronic cuircuitry of the car. I tokk a U turn and drove back to the Station.

The service engineers had already left and the the only technician at the station examined the car using a Device called TECH2this device checks the computreised system in the car and points out to the faults in the electric wiring in the car etc. He made a few adjustments and the light in the dash board switched off. He told me that I can take the car now and if the problem crops up again (which will happen in a drive of 5kms or so if at all) I would reuire to bring the car back again. And lo there was the problem as it is after I had driven around 6 Kms..the next morning I was back at the station. By this time I was a little worried about the car but surprisingly not angry at the staff or the technicians. As I feared, if I were to show anger they would not correct the problem. However I must say that the staff at the the station was very courteous The service engineer again took my Car on priority with the assuarnace that they will get the car ready at any cost by afternoon. Received a call that the car is ready. I went for a test drive with the service engineer and was relaxed to see that the car gave absolulety no problems. We returned to the station and parked the car to get the gate pass ready. As I started the car again for leaving there was the same problem as it was in the morning. They again took the car in the service area and after two hours the service engineed came back with after a test drive and told me that they have replaced the Sensor of the car and a part called Actuator. He assured me that the car will not give me any more trouble and if it does They will call the Expert GM Engineer from the HO to take care of he car.

I had my doubts and apprehensions but I took the car and went home. This was 4 days back. The problem has not re-surfacedand the drive is absolutely smooth. In this entire episode the only expense that I had to bear was the initial service cost of Rs. 506 and the cost of petrol that was spent during the test drives but the most painfull part was time wasted & the drives to the S station and back to office on a rickshaw in this hot weather, for the past one week. The relief was that my office is just 2kms from the service station.

After writing this review I am just wondering what should my opinion be?..should I appreciate the Politeness of the Service station staff, their customer centricity , the fact that the warranty in the service manual actually works or should I get mad at the quality of the parts used in the car, the fact the technicians/engineer rely more on jugaad and less on their skills or the most important the reliability of the car itself....

I am confused...but thought someone from you guys would make a better/informed decision based on this.
