Well, like many-even I went through the vacillations: Getz? Swift? or U-VA?! Previous reviews helped me a great deal, though! My primary considerations were Looks, Space, Comfort & Style while Power, Fuel Economy & Reliability [reputation of manufcturer] were considerations-but next to the first set. I ruled out Swift simply b'coz I don't like its looks & interior space-personally-whatever its pluses may have been. Between Getz & U-VA, I preferred the latter for its 'high'feel-I mean the combined effect of large wheel size & highest ground clearance>and on this count I feel vindicated with my choice! I found U-VA scoring high as per my requirement list. I've just bought it 45 days' back.but people who checked it out have one expression; admiration! The driving in city is exceptionally smooth & easy. My usage is limited so I won't bother too much over fuel economy; After sales & maintenance?-Well, I hope them to be comfortable. I never gave weightage to power [bhp] so much inspite of learning that Swift has the highest in the segment; where do I need big power-I mean on city raods? Well I neither do frequent highway travel, nor do I take long city rides. In fact, an ideal combination, according to me has got be-power only to get you started [coz, if you happen to drag, you'll hear hundred honks for blocking other'speedies'] and then just enough power to drive steady at 40-60 kmph.
U-VA comes in some really cool colour options. In fact, I had a tough time deciding on the colour: Blazing Red? Rainforest Green? Ivory Gold? The latter two are very unique colours in this segment-I was told. It was really tough.but finally I settled for the elegant & rich feel Ivory Gold. I could have decided in favor of Rainforest Green-an equally good colour.
Friends who were holding U-VA's high price against it changed their view & said it's good value for money with its features. My advice. if you have moved up to mid segment cars, then don't let the'extra money' in the price bother you-the car will be a lovely possession at its price!
The special features which I liked most in the car were: large wheel size [makes you feel you are driving a Sedan!], larger ground clearance [Avoiding those thoughtlessly laid road humps & saying you from that screech sound on the underside by rubbing], interior space [Great feeling with sooo much room!], boot space, rear split folding seats, titlable steering [you won't hit the steering column on your knees anymore!] and the LT model comes fully loaded!
I've checked fuel consumption just once-and it was 12 kms to the litre in Bengaluru traffic; I'm not too bothered about it yet-may be it'll improve.
I'll come back with more after driving it a while! I'd certainly recommend the car for those with similar considerations as mine!
