I bought a Spark LT from Pressanna Motors-Erode on 17th of May 2010.as a birthday gift
for my wife.THIS IS MY FIRST WEEK REVIEW.
I disposed my Alto VXI for this car as it was lacking power in this segment. Spark has truly lived up to my expectations.The sales staff were polite and guided me thru the whole process of purchase including getting a fancy regn. number very seamlessly.The delivery was done with the customary pooja. Pricing wise, I seem to have got a fair deal with Rs.32000.00 knocked off on the On-road price of Rs.426000.00. Additionally I got freebies such as floor mats, mud-flaps, reverse horn, Dual remote central locking with automatic glass up-loader, Teflon coating, leather steering grip, wooden garnish on instrumental panel, and body graphics thrown in as complimentary.The 2Din stereo system is the only additional investment done by me.Driving around is a breeze.Mostly it was driven only with in city. I find it very easy to handle even in very congested places both in terms of driving and parking.
Yesterday I took it to the highway, this machine is a workhorse. the power it pumps makes your adrenaline rush.The gearshift is V V smooth and this car has good torque even at low speeds. The handling with the 13" tubeless radials is great even at high speeds.The Beige interiors give it a very roomy look similar to the bigger cars.The instrument panel is very strategically placed with all required data available in one look such as odometer, trip-meter, clock, digital fuel gauge, battery, RPM meter, Door ajar warning etc.etc.The air conditioner is pretty good and chilling even in a place like Erode where the mercury touches 41 degrees C.The mileage / ltr of petrol still needs to be checked as I have just clocked 330 km as of now. I will surely update on this vital factor.The only draw backs I feel is the smaller boot space. But the 60:40 fold-able rear seats can compensate for this drawback. The steering wheel could have been designed a little better.
Rest I feel this SPARK ignites your passion.Great car. I definitely recommend this baby as any one’s first car.My wife for a change agrees with me .Hats off to Chevy engineers for designing such a wonderful car.
