I had issues with service station stealing petrol so I wrote to GM and Vijay service station . Below is the reply I got . As per this ( point 5 ) GM is confirming that Spark gives obly 10.5 Kilometers / Litre in city conditions ( Bangalore City ) . Remember this is without AC.
Point 5 clearly says I can only travel 27 kilometers with 2.5 litre in city conditions . Means 10.5 is the mileage in the city.

Dear Sir,
With reference to your email dated 17.04.2009.Here by we would like to bring to your kind information That, as we have received your vehicle for service on dt: 14.04.2009 has dropped by you in person and simultaneously we have taken the inventory of your vehicle. Where the fuel guage has shown quarter tank of fuel and it is clearly mentioned on the inventory copy (that is quarter tank capacity is around 9.5 ltrs only).Further as the procedure of service we have to clean the fuel filter on this an amount of 300ml of fuel would be wastage and after the service of the vehicle it has gone for test drive for the job carried out also the vehicle has been dropped to your place .So the distance covered for test drive and drop to your place is about 27 kms .
As the total capacity of the fuel tank is 38 ltrs
The inventory shows the vehicle received for service the fuel guage shown as quarter tank that is 9.5 ltrs. (Scan copy of inventory sheet attached)
3.Then around 300 to 500 ml has been used to clean the fuel filter as per service procedure .
The reserve quantity is 5.5 ltrs (i.e. Fuel bunk lights glows)
The total distance cover is 27kms for which we had taken for road test and dropped your vehicle at your place.(consumption of 2.5 ltrs a per our city condition)

Below is my original mail to them , I did receive a call from Vijay motors but what they explained did not make any sense. He told me that they have used petrol for cleaning some carburetor and also did a 26 kilometers test drive to check the vehicles pulling. I am surprised that they have to drive 26 kms to check the vehicle pulling ( I am not a mechanic but I can do that by driving 2 kilometers, so I do not know what kind of training they got from GM ). Still I did not get an answer for missing petrol , how did it become 1/2 tank to empty ?. Also there is no answer for taking 1:30 hours to travel 4 kilometers . Also my mileage reading is not showing that they had travelled 26 kms anyway so I can prove that they are wrong.
Anyway this is the last time I will be giving my vehicle for service in Vijay Motors . I had always got excellent service from Sundaram so I will stick to them from now. I am copying them so that they can see my feedback.
