Chevrolet Spark LS. Review on Chevrolet Spark

First service over 1000 KMS clocked. I think I can write my initial experiences with my new Spark.

I bought the car Spark LS model(with Power Steering and 2 power windows) on 19th july 2008 from Vijai Motors Bangalore. I preferred Vijai motors over Sundaram Motors as Vijai Mtrs promised more goodies, discounts etc.

The test drive at both the places were good, I loved the way both salesmen gave the demo and their attitude.

Now about the car, I would say it’s a good city car. I would list out the pros and cons.

Pros.

1. The back leg room is good, back seat riding is comfortable for 2.

   
   




2. The car is well prized now, you get internally adjustable mirrors,  fog lamps, defogger, etc all for  3.8lakhs on road.(This is the LT version).

   
   




3. The car is superb silent. You wouldn’t know that the ignition is on.

   
   




4. The a.c is good.(I would say I liked the a.c in Zen estilo/santro/wagonR better.

   
   




5. Mileage, I am getting around 14(50% ac) in Bangalore city conditions. Power steering is good.

   
   

Cons

1. The AC blower is too noisy.

   
   




2. Boot is very small.

   
   




3. Service network is very small.

   
   




4. Front seat thigh support is less.

   
   

Few of the problems I faced with my car/dealer are

1. Vibrations at idle, I began to get the vibrations two days after delivery. Now it has reduced.

   
   




2. The dealer did not fix mudflaps, gave me a non-GM accessory Remote locking(promised me a GM accessory).

   
   




3. Few small dents on my bonnet after giving it to the dealer for fixing the Remote Locking.

   
   

I would say you can go for this car, if you have a small family and plan to use it for city driving. Also you get more features for the money you shell out. I will update the review after I complete 5000 Kms.
