In cons, earlier I had mentioned that gear shift was notchy, but after driving for more than 3100 kms now, gear shift has become smooth. In city without AC, Spark has delivered mileage of 16 kms/litre.

I am regular visitor to mouthshut.com and have posetd couple of reviews for my Suzuku Access 125 earlier. This is for my car which I recently purchased. Earlier I had used Maruti Esteem(old) for couple of years and also driven Maruti Alto.
Well, I have bought Chevy Spark PS model on Mar 27, 2009, Gudhipadwa. It costed me about Rs. 3, 18, 000 on road with discount and I have spent Rs. 14, 000 extra on accessories. Since then I have travelled about 2500 kms.
I am from Pune and had three major trips since I got the car. One to Panchagani, near Mahabaleshwar, about 120 kms from Pune, Second to Kalyan about 160 kms and third to Goa about 460 kms. I use car daily to travel to my office which is about 10 kms from my house.
I am not putting the features of the car here, as you can easily get them online. Following are my observations based on my experience so far:
Power: Though it is 995 CC engine, it looks very powerful to me. I could touch the speed of 150 kms/hr on Pune-Bangalore highway during my trip to Goa and car was very stable. It let me overtake on highways without putting AC off in 5th gear. Most of the times I could drive in 4th gear while ascending Ghats of Sahyadri during my trip to Goa. In city, ride is comfortable as you can drive at 20 kms/hr in 4th gear too.:) And that's really great for me. Pick-up is decent. I use normal petrol. Can anyone please suggest which petrol is suitable for my car? and what is the octane value of normal petrol?
Comfort: AC is quite powerful, and cools cabin within a minute. Blower is very noisy at position 4. Otherwise it's very good. Suspension is amazing and really helps in enjoying comfy ride on rough roads. Rear seat fold makes things easy when you have more luggage. Low turning radius helps a lot while parking in small space. Braking is also very responsive. I had to brake the car urgently couple times when speed was above 80+ kms/hr and it came to halt almost instantly. I did not feel exhausted at all during my travel to n from Goa which I did during daytime in hot sun, as I was not comfortable driving for so long in the night time.
Mileage: In city, I am getting around 15 kms/litre with 50% of the time AC on. On highway, I have got around 18+ kms/litre with about 70% of the time AC on. I think this is really good mileage anyone can expect from this car! Again it depends on driving habits. People may get little better than this.:)
GM/Dealer Service: GM Dealer(Pashankar Auto Wheels) is so far good at service. They picked my vehicle during first re-assurance check-up and dropped it to my place. Also they tried to attend to my minor queries at the time of delivery.
Overall: This car is truely value for money. I can suggest it to anyone who is looking for a small car in range of 3-3.5 lakhs. Spark is much better compared to other cars in the same segment. I am very happy with the car and deal and have developed a special bond with Sparky baby. Please feel free to ask questions if you have some. I hope this review helps you in chosing your car!
