*Background
*Yeah, we all know it, the Matiz needed a replacement badly, and it is here, albeit late by a couple of years. After GM brought Daewoo, it was evident the company would use its Chevy brand to bring back the Matiz into india in its new version, the Spark
Looks
For me, the Spark looks'cute'. That is the first impression. But the more you see the car, the most adjectives you start using for the car, the good ones that is. The way the tail lights wrap up, the way the headlights are placed, and those lil lips(the front of the bonnet.): everything lends to make the car stand out. No, it isnt beautiful, but it is smart and cute.
*Interiors
*One of the biggest plus points of the Spark are its spacious interiors. The speedometer console finds itself places in the center, above the dashboard, which can take sometime getting used to, but it gives a lot of place upfront and gives the feeling of a spacious vehicle. Seats, both up front and at the rear are again quite respectable for a car of this size. Same goes for the boot. To sum it up, it is spacious than the likes of the new zen/santro for sure.
*Engine/performance/fuel economy
*The Spark excels here too. The new engine gives her almost class leading power figures, and she is neck to neck with the fastest car in the segment, the santro. But what is good is that if you wish to take it out on the highway, it will hold 110-120km/h speeds with ease, which the santro cannot.
Engine response is good, and she does return nice fuel economy figs(13-14 with a/c in city)
*Suspension/handling
*Drive the spark back to back with other cars of the segment on the highway and u will be amazed how well she handles and feels at high speeds. For city roads, the ride feels just a tad stiff, but isnt a bother.
*VERDICT:
*If you can live with the cutish looks(im askin the men out here), spark is the car to go for. Great VFM package! Looks great, performs great, and will keep you happy
