Spark is amazing peice of engineering by GM!. Review on Chevrolet Spark

Hi everyone, the other day I test drove the Spark LS and here I am to share my views and experiece that I had that 45 minutes of driving it.  I have always been a loyal customer to Maruti as I have always been using Maruti Vehicles.  Currently I have three Maruti Vehicles namely Esteem, Wagon R and Alto in my immediate family and I drive all these vehicles almost regularely.  Now that I dont have a car of my own so I wanted to go for a small car and made up my mind to purchase a car in the hatchback car segment.  I had the following cars in my mind to do the test drive and finalise one, and are Wagon R, Alto, Spark.  Now to describe them one by one, I already have and driven Maruti's Wagon R already so I knew the pros and cosn of it already, hwever I wanted to try something new this time.  Wagon R being one of the best selling car out of Maruti's stable, I really like it despite the boxy looks but never wanted to drive it once again.  Hence I dropped the idea to go for one.

Then comes the alto, I have driven this vehicle too, its really a good engineered vehicle, with enuf space inside to accomodate four ppl confirtably, and having a good mileage amongst all hatch backs.  However its too under powered for me to go for it.  Hence I dropped the idea to go for it too.  Now most of you must be thinking why didnt I mention Hyundai's Santro when I am talking bout hatch backs, now from the beginning itself, I never liked the looks santro, as they rightly say that looks are pretty subjective.  As well I have heard that its not good in mileage too, which demotivated me to even think of it for purchasing a hatch back.

Now comes the spark and I still dont own the vehicle so my review might not be as apt and true about the vehicle as a vehicle owner.  To test drive the Spark I went to Shiva Motors, Noida.  I went up to them and was told that the car is gone for a test drive and will be available after half an hour.  However I was ready for the wait as I wanted to finalise a car sooner.  In the mean time I checked out the interiors of an Spark LT model which was there on display, and to tel you the truth I fell in love with the car.  The looks are pretty good as compared to any other car in this segment.  Everyone knows bout the exteriors of spark and most of us like them too, then I opned the door and sat in the drives seat to check out the interiors and was really impressed with the interiors too, as it didnt give me that cheap plastic looks on the dash and it was a firm dash whch was in front of me.  however was a little disspointed with the steering wheel but thats fine with me.  I could see inside the car that there was enough space in front and also at the back, the leg space was enough for both front and rear passangers.  Overall the entire interior was quite soothing and spacious.  The car looks small from outside however is really big inside.  Also I have seen people talking bout the central instrument cluster, trust me from my point of view this is one of its kind in this segment and realy looks classy, and doesnt hamper the vehicle in any way.  Infact the other car makes are also copying this arrangemnt in their fourthcoming cars.  For example Indica's new car is coming up with the cluster in middle.  Which definitely suggests the popularity of this cluster arrangement.

There are quite a few other things which are first in spark in the small car segment, and to name them are Tubless tyres, 3 years /1, 00, 000 Km warranty & the gas filled shocks which no other car makers are providing and definitely adds feathers to spark's crown.

Lets talk about the driving experience, we were three people ob board when I took the test drive of the vehicle.  I had already heard about people recranking the engine while trying to put the engine to life in this car, hence I was sure of cranking the engine just once to turn it on.  So I turned the key and the car was alive, I confirmed the same by pushing the accelerator and the first thign that struck me was that the engine is so silent and smooth.  it doesnt give you the feel of any of the maruthi vehicles where you can hear the engine noice inside the cabin too in low speeds.  Then I put the vehicle in first gear and the vehicle was in motion.  I deliberately put the vehicle on quite a few patholes and trust me it took all of them with ease without us realising them. I could easily make the difference between the normal shocks and the gas shocks.  I took the vehicle to the G Noida expressway and pushed the throttle with AC on, and amazingly without much efforts car reached 130 KMPH and dint give me a feel that I sud slow it down, it was maintaining it poise even at this high speed, but then I took it down to 110 KMPH and kept driving it for another 15 odd Kms when I took a u turn to  back home.  Trust me the driving experience was awsome, Spark just zips and slips over the road and gives u a big car feeling all the way u are driving it.  Engine is extra smooth, braking is nice, A/C is above average and doesnt have much effect on pickup, gas filled shocks does their work properely.  What else would one require from a vehicle, with 3 years warranty you can enjoy the drive of such a well engineered vehicle.

As far as the average of the vehicle is concerned, I would be able to comment on it as I dont own a vehicle as yet, hwoever I have booked LT model for myself which will be delivered on 2nd of September.  I would definitely recomment this vehicle to anyone who whishes to purchase a small car for their family.  GM is worlds number 1 company, and I would say Spark is gonna be one of the best seller in the Indian car market, as it is Spark has proved itself in the itnernational car market and around 23 lakh sparks are running all over the world.

Go for this vehicle without a doubt in your minds.  Cheers!
