Hey guys,
i bought the Optro 1.6 base elite version in Mumbai in Feb2006. Though other things with the car are fine, the fuel efficiency is really a concern. GM keeps advertising it as 12.2 kmpl average but in the last three months or so, I have never got anything over 8, in fact nearabout 7.5 most of the time.
I have been driving between Borivali and Andheri for about 20 years now so there is nothing different about my driving, (except the Mumbai roads nowadays)but that should not matter so much. I take the Aarey Milk colony route which is something of a blessing. GM claims fuel efficiency as 12.2 as an average considering city and highway driving.
Their dealer says, there are several like me who complain to them (no wonder), and they then invite them to their workshop, take the car out for a test ride and CONVINCE them that the fuel efficiency is alright. They say apart from convincing me that everything is fine, they cannot do anything with the car as such because the thing is factory adjusted and cannot be changed. My foot!
I have not taken my car there as there is no point in just getting convinced with the paltry average that I am getting.
can someone provide me with figures of what this car really gives? has anyone been able to get anything adjusted to increase the average?
