I bought this car in April 2010 and have run nearly 14, 000 KM till date and have had almost nil issues with the car.

Firstly I want to mention what made me buy the Chevrolet BEAT LT. Since it was my first car, I had a dilemma between the Maruti Ritz, Hyundai i10 and then newly lauched Chevrolet Beat.

Why I did not buy Ritz & i10? - Ritz is a good car too but it was overly priced and the looks did not inspire me at all. i10 is a decent car but it was also over my budget for the features I was looking in the car.

So after all these options, I checked out the new Beat and it was "The Car" I was looking for. First and foremost the style and looks with features packed in the car attracted me and I felt as if this was made for me. Secondly, the comfort in the backseat was nice and had huge leg space. Thirdly, the mileage was too good for the new comer.

It is almost a year now since I have been driving this car, and with my experience there was no complaints about the performance and maintenance. I have had a couple of long drives on the Madras - Trichy Highway and clocked 140 Km/Hr easily with ease. What's amazing is the brakes and it is so smooth and reliable. The maneouverability in the congested city roads is so easy and you will not get tired driving because the seats are also very good.

The average mileage has been close to 15-16 Km/ Lt so far and I drive mostly with the a/c on.

The only con I would say is the service network of GM needs to expand. In Chennai, we have TVS Sundaram Motors and KLN Motors who offer dealership and service. Both are good and reliable. There should be more dealers and service providers so that people get confident buying this awesome car. Also, the road visibility is low when compared to other hatchbacks but once you get used to it, you never feel odd.

To conclude - If style and value for money is your first choice, I strongly recommend this car against any hatchback.

Thanks for reading through my review!

Regards - Surya

Additional Details: I just clocked 20, 000 km and was my second paid service. I had to change the A/C pollen filter as I was getting hit on mileage with A/C on. The blow is awesome now and the car gets cooled in 20.5^C with 2 bars itself. Also the mileage is good now!

I got it serviced at the Ambattur KLM centre. They left my car windows open and was drenched inside in rain. When I got it back from service, I was not satisfied and when there was review call from GM, I mentioned about it. The customer care manager Priya of KLN offererd me free clean up of the interiors of the car at my home. I was impressed!

Hey All - My car just crossed the 30, 000 km mark. I still have the same mileage maintained(15-16 kmpl) which I had mentioned in my intial part of the review. For the first time I got the car overhauled at Carnation. They did a pretty good job and I spent Rs. 2500 for it. I'm totally satisfied Beat fan:)
