I bought Chevrolet Beat LT Diesel in 2013 in its elegant beige color. Its got a fantastic interior and the mileage is excellent - roughly around 16-17 per liter in the city with AC on.
Its looks are also admirable and you could term it as small and convenient. It is specially convenient to drive is in a city like Ludhiana where I live and the budget on diesel puts less weight on your pocket.
It is ideal for 5 adults though you could carry 2-3 kids along. The space in the dikki is also sufficient to carry your goods when going out of station.
The only drawback I found in the car was that its parts are expensive when you need replacement.
