ITS GOOD BUT NOT BEST !. Review on Chevrolet Aveo

Hi friends let me tell you some important points about my love! .... Aveo.. This car has got looks and will attract masses..the pleasant looking clear head lamps,a tastefully designed bumper and not to forget that chrome grill...looks very contemporary.move to the side of car and you are well greeted by thought of nicely proportioned and highly muscular car.the wheel arches are flared,shoulder lines pose an aggressive stance.the triangular tail lamps are refreshing too.styling of a car is the most important parameter in this class in India.Aveo gets full marks for styling.

The chasis is monocoque and the fuel tank is 45 litres.

Step in,you are amazed by plush feel beige coloured 2-tone dashboard with metallic or wood inserts(depending on varient.)..my car came wooden inserts.The trim is so beautiful that even Optra buyers will think twice before considering Optra.The car comes with an MP3 player as standard fitment.The black color music system though works well but looks a bit odd in the otherwise nicely executed cabib as it looks darker in shade.It has got a decent thump but crazy people like me will replace it with a louder one! Door trim gives you a rich feel.The fit and finish of the car is light years ahead of ford fiesta.the steering wheel is chunky.The steering as well as driver's seat are height adjustable.there is no dead pedal provided.the car is enjoyable on the highways and open streches.The air condition works well and dries all ur sweat in a matter of minutes and cools the cabin well.The cabin feels secured from outside as there is pin drop silence inside.

There are 2 engine options available 1.4 and 1.6.both petrol.1.4 has 94ps of power and 1.6 has 102 ps.when I first drove my 1.6 it felt quicker than fiesta(which I tested the same day.) It is not as smooth though. But once the rpm figures goes above 4500 the engine beomes noisy and feels harsh with vibrations transmitted to me.The 5-speed gear box is not very good when compared to fiesta or rich brother honda city.It is borrowed from optra.It feels notchy and has long throws which doesnt let us enjoy the sportiness of the engine.The handling and ride quality of the car is very good.For city driving the power steering doesnot lighten much so it becomes tedious to drive around city(more so on crowed delhi roads.) For safety the top model (LT) comes with 2 air bags at front and ABS.This thing pinches me always,why the hell companies provide these safety equipments only on top models..this is just due to negligence of our govt.i have not bottle tested my car for fuel efficiency,though I can say that we can get 11-12 kmpl in the city with AC on.On the highways its 15-16 kmpl.

I found it a good deal due to the reasonable price,quality,styling.space and luxury it comes with.moreover GM has kept the spare parts price low compared to the competition.

My advice is forget Esteem,Baleno,Accent,Petra and Ikon..they are outdated now...Go and check out the good ones like Aveo,fiesta and the honda city.If you want a diesel drinking car with decent looks and comfort and budget of 7 lac than go for fiesta as it is the only option available.If you are very conscious about label or snob value than Honda is made for you.Honda city is build to last for long and comes with all goodies and the quality is superb.And if you are looking at style and excellent interiors than check out Aveo..but if you you want nice gear shift quality,ultra refined engine and perfectly weighing steering feel than please forget Aveo and go for Honda city....The main picture of all this comparison you will get when you wil personally test drive all of these cars.Anyways enjoy your wheels!!
