Chevrolet Aveo. Review on Chevrolet Aveo

This is the first time I am writing a review on MouthShut. Let’s get started now.

Aveo 1.4 and the Fiesta 1.4 are the only two cars in this category, so I am comparing this car with the Fiesta. I have test driven the Fiesta prior to this. Aveo Sedan was rushed before the hatchback as it was to compete with the success of the Fiesta.

The initial impression of the car is that it is a good looking car. Good interiors (I felt it is better than of the Fiesta as it has more Beige). Styling of the Car is good. It has more chrome than in a Fiesta. They have taken a lot of cues from the Fiesta. The initial pickup is not that good in this car. Though the specifications say it is 94 bhp, I did not feel that power while driving this car. Fiesta being an 82 bhp car feels a lot more responsive compared to the Aveo. Gearing is rough. I didn’t find it convenient as well. For taking Reverse you have to raise the gear lever. On the contrary Fiesta's Gear Box is a lot smoother than the Aveo. Power Steering is good. The AC also seems to be pretty decent although I didn’t test it in the afternoon. Aveo has a bit more Flat torque than the Fiesta, hence you can drive this car in higher gears at low speeds.

The front seats are comfortable to drive. I am 6ft 2 inches and I did not have any problems. When I push back the front seats, the person sitting in the rear seat might be cramped for leg room. It is the same in Fiesta as well. The front Head room is good. But when I sit at the rear, my head touches the roof. If you have tall members in the family, this is not the car for you. When I asked the sales Guy, why is it so at the rear, he said it is aerodynamically shaped and theatrically seated so that the rear passengers have a better view. Do we have to sacrifice head room for aerodynamics? I don’t think so!!!!!!!!!!

Fiesta yields around 12-13 in city with AC whereas the sales Guy at Aveo boasts about 15kmpl. I don’t think so as GM are not know for Good mileage. I feel it might give around the same as the Fiesta or less perhaps.

The boot of Fiesta is roomy than the Aveo.

Although Aveo is slightly lengthier and wider than the Fiesta, the Wheelbase of Aveo is slightly lesser than the Fiesta.

Overall I felt Fiesta is much refined and a practical car than the Aveo.

Fiesta 1.4 is priced at 6.52 lakhs on road Bangalore

Aveo 1.4 is priced at 6.72 lakhs on road Bangalore.

The only difference is you get an additional mp3 player with the Aveo.
