After test driving all similar ones, settled for a U-Va in May 2007. Enjoying its company very much. The first journey was from Trivandrum to Bangalore via Calicut. In Bangalore it was put to severe tests. One KSRTC bus hit at the back. But nothing happened. (The hit was really strong). Its body has muscles.
From 2007 to 2010, had 11 trips to Kerala during all weather conditions. It was really comfortable. Drove easily through the notoriously bad roads in Kerala. In Karnataka, (as my job demanded) drove it through unfriendly terrains in Tumkur, Agumbe and through forests in many places. All through it gave me only comfort. During one occasion, I had to rush to Cochin from Hubli and drove it continuously, without even performing a 'prelong trip' chek up (I do it before a long trip).
The vehicle was so dependable that it proved its mettle on this more than 800 kms drive involving a full night and a few hours of day time. The engine was faithful and noiseless throughout. I do not care about mileage. However, I think it gives 13 to 16 kmpl. I always drive with A/C on. The seats are really good. I never get tired after a pretty long drive. It behaved very well in the peculiar traffic conditions in Bangalore with its eternal traffic jam and snail like moves.
The clutch was faithful for 25000 kms. May be I am not good at dead slow driving. in Bangalore clutch life is not at all good for any vehicle. Now I am in Kerala, and it helps me on the move. I had very satisfying relations with all the dealers I had gone to in Bangalore, Kochi and Trivandrum. My experience with all the dealers. GM at Kochi, Garuda and TVS at Bangalore and Deedi at Trivandrdum are all very good and satisfying.
Once I had and issue on the way and I was overwhelmed by the response and good treatment I got from Chevy's online help. They are really service oriented. Somebody has mentioned U-Va as "LITTLE INNOVA" in a review. I fully subscribe to it. One thing is sure, my next vehicle will also be a Chevy. My U-Va has done 40000 kms. I have no intention to part with it now. I strongly recommend this vehicle to any one. Best wishes to all U-Va owners and drivers.
