Long Back I watched a movie 'Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya' with my friend and we found a music director on our adjacent seat who use to speak 'Laga Laga Laga Re' every time whenever he liked the scene from movie. This time again I found a music director in my adjacent seat who is speaking 'Chennnnaiyaiyai express' everytime he liked a scene. But in the midst of all this, I watched this movie finally. My last watch was 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' though I am yet to write a review on it. One line "An okay time pass and Rohit Shetty ishtyle entertaining 2.5 hours is what Chennai Express is".

Rahul, the famous "naam to suna hoga" character played by THE Shahrukh Khan has a work to do, he has to dissolute his grand father's ashes in Rameshwaram but he has a plan to enjoy few days in Rohit Shetty's favorite shooting place - THE GOA!! He hatched a plan and board Chennai Express making his grand mother believes that he is actually going to Rameshwaram for the pending work, and later he can deboard at Kalyan station. But at Kalyan due to a mishap he board few more passengers in his trademark DDLJ style, these passengers are the Tamilian (heroine of movie) Meena Lochani (Deepika Padukone) and his Tamil cousins. These Tamil cousins of her are actually her appa's goondas and is escorting her back to her Tamil Village, which is actually situated near Goa only, you can spot the famous Doodhsagar waterfall which lies in the route from Ponda to Goa, none of these stations lies in Tamil Nadu actually but in Karnataka. She has ran from the village, her father is a don named Durgeshwara (Sathyaraj) and her father wants her to marry his friend's son, a bahubali Tangaballi (Niketan Dheer), and now bechara SRK founds himself in between of this mess. Rest is self-explanatory!

If you're confused whether to watch this movie in theatre or not, go and watch it, you don't require to take your brains with you, just get a good time-pass in the ACed theatre. It's a full Rohit Shetty ishtyle movie, yes many things are not used here and are limited but still director had the control of movie despite having a star SRK in the movie. That was what 'Ek Tha Tiger' lacks it was more a Salman Khan movie than a Kabir Khan's one. SRK did as he was told to ad that was the good part of it. I must say that Farhan Akhtar and now Rohit Shetty handled this star very well. One liners are less plus some scenes looks cut short, I felt it because I was liking those scenes, and wanted it to extend a bit more, fights are there but in less numbers, movie was time pass with comic timings though not as much comic as many movies of Rohit Shetty were, but yes you'll again find a car stunt scene here as well, Rohit Shetty has an expertise in car-related stunts, where those cars just flies here and there. Yes there are directional glitches like the train coach where you'll find seat no 1, 2, 3 on the side where actually 4, 5, 6 seat nos should be mentioned, oops wrong numbering!! Railway's mistake or movie-maker's.

"Chutti manane nikla tha, tumne to meri chhutti kar di" I liked some of the dialogues and the style with which SRK utters them, mind-blowing and impactful. Deepika Padukone pulls a great act with her Tamil styled dialogue delievery, she impresses. SRK was found spoofing on some of his own movies, thanks to the specific Rohit Shetty's screenplay/dialogue writers. Though a big blow was more of Tamil dialogues without any subtitles, you may feel lost sometimes, since you don't know Tamil and they speak Tamil. Then like 'Bol Bachchan' 'Golmaal 3' and other movies of Rohit Shetty, here also a special styled scene was included, here it was the chance of talking to each other in parody singing style, that was good one. The fighting at the climax looks quite real and one of the best scene of the movie, it looks real when SRK was fighting with randomly coming goondas and later on when he take up with Thangaballi, too good. Sathyaraj as the Don looks good and Niketan Dheer looks awesome in the body-builder goonda role, he was also in the Golmaal series I think! Both looks convincing and in the whole movie we say everybody playing with SRK like a football, and which actually looks good on the screen. Songs were okay, though the 2 songs which I liked are not in the movie 'Chennai Express' Title track and the one added in the last 'Lungi Dance'. The songs which are included are 'Titli", sung nicely, '1 2 3 4' the item number and 'Kashmir Main', which was just okay.

So this Eid/Teej, you can actually have a time-pass outing for 2.5 hrs and enjoy it. Chennai Express is not great but a good time-pass, tomorrow is sunday, one more day to enjoy a good weekend. My rating 3/5.
