After a long time, I had planned to take my sibling for a movie. Immediately I checked for tickets in Satyam Cineplex, where like always it was "Full House", the next option in Cineplex genre currently located within Chennai Citi limit is "Inox", I was lucky and I got the tickets for the movie in this theatre for a "Saturday 15:45 hrs Show".
Inox theatre is located inside Citi Centre, so I had planned to leave early and spend some time in the Citi Centre complex, "Citi Centre" is like a little bit smaller version of "Spencer Plaza".
Parking Centre:
The first thing you encoutner is parking whenever you visit a big mall, Citi Centre has got a very well planned parking facility, for cars and bikes. Cars are parked in the basement and the bikes are parked inside the building's open perimeter. One has to be really a good driver if you are entering the mall's car parking facility, as the twist and turn while coming out needs more attention while driving. A small mistake will make your car's body having some X & Z shapes printed on it.
For bike parking, you don't have any issues as you will be parking in the open area around the building within it's perimeter. But, the parking cost is not at all bearable by a middle class family. There is a fixed price for the first two hours, thereafter they are charging a separate amount for every extra hours. If you have spent around 4 to 5 hours then approximately you will be paying Rs. 25-30/- for parking alone.
*Centre of Attraction:
*Almost all days are celberation day in this mall, whenever I have visited this mall, there have been some event's getting conducted in the Centre part of this mall. Last time it was a music show, where WCC College was collecting donation for some good cause. And also there was "Yamaha" keyboard's exhibition and demo where shown during some specific time slots. These events are always crowd pullers. So, you can expect some entertainment always in the Centre of the mall.
Security Centre:
The Security inside the building are polite, but you will very soon get irritated by them because, there are too much of restrictions inside the mall, don't stand here, don't sit here, don't watch things from here, etc., etc, so, you will soon feel the heat with the ordered behavior of security. However, they have been instructed so for a reason, which we don't know.
Shopping Centre:
There are "N" number of big giants located in this Citi Centre Mall. Few of them are Reebok, Landmark, Pantaloon, etc., like always, the cost of buying things here are really high like any other elite mall's in the City. As I am not a shopping freak, I feel that there are too much of shops to buy inside this mall. All variety clothes, electronic items and gifts are available inside this mall.
*Food Centre:
If you are a foodie, this is the right place for you in the City, myriad number of variety of food counters are available inside this mall. Pure Veg to Pure Non-Veg the range is very good. Chat Items to Pizza the variety are really good. All the food counters are run by famous Food Giants in India. The only problem that I encountered was the food stench from Non-Veg counters and the table are really unpleasant and heavy, me being a Non-Veg lover felt this, when I was looking out to buy some Non-Veg from one of the counters. Think about a pure veg citizens feeling then. There is also a grocery shop inside this mall.
*Play Centre:
There is a play centre located near to the food counters, your kids and people who are kids in mind can enjoy a lot over here. Most of the games are "Video Games" type and there are few other games like ball throwing, chocolate picking, teddy bear grabber etc., This will really help kill time for adults and will be refreshing for children.
*Theatre Centre:
Inox is operating under the celing of Citi Centre. It has more than 4 screens. These theatres are really good, when it comes to quality, however these are not having very big screens and are not equipped to have huge seating capacity unlike other few theatres in Chennai. The washrooms are very clean and well maintained. The food inside this theatre complex are pretty high, neither you are allowed to take food from outside.
Citi Centric Verdict:
As this is near to Marina beach, this is one of the preferred spot for a huge set of people. Loads of fun, entertainment, shopping, food is available under Citi Centre's roof for a high price. Bourgeois class people can go once and think whether it is suitable for their spending culture. Upper middle class and affluent class people who has the habit of spending more is most welcome here.
