Boring champs!

That's the big term on CFC right there. They are a team who want to bore the EPL fans to no extent. Okay. Given they were badly overshadowed by the giants in Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool over the last decade despite having talented players like Crespo (short period) and Gianfranco Zola. They definitely deserved a team build up as their fans desired.

But this? Today CFC is virtually unbeatable. On a given day, even the biggest of sides needs 200% fitness, as well as 200% luck to beat them. That is, on a given day, if a ref. turns down your penalty claims against them, like Liverpool suffered a couple of days back in the Champions league when CFC defender Gallas handled Jamie Carragher's header and yet the penalty was denied, then it's hard to produce a winning result against them. They don't give straight goals at all. They are rock solid in the back and teams have tried and tested that it's hard to break through them as hard as it is to stop their forwards to pick up on the counter attack and score!

So what made this mediocre club rise all of a sudden and make things so miserable for all the ''Giants'' of EPL and the rest of the world!

Well, Russian billionare Roman Abramovich, despite lack of major knowledge about Football, made the decision to purchase the club rights. Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho, who led an inexperienced FC Porto to a Champions League title in 2004, was thus hired as a manager for this inexperienced team too. Crespo was loaned to Milan while Zola sent back to play his last year in native club Cagliari in Italy. As a result, a fresh start initiated. Abramovich payed millions to get hold of England's Euro 2004 hero Frank Lampard as the central midfielder. He then payed a huge sum to buy Ajax Amsterdam's goal scoring wonder Arjen Robben from Holland. Add to it, club's rising winger Damien Duff, who could easily be a reversible option for the 21-year old Robben and vice-versa. Then, a right-winger in English rookie Joe Cole wasn't enough. Another English Prodigy, Shaun Wrightphillips, the 21-year old future World Cup hero was bought from Manchester city to be a reversible for Joe Cole. If that wasn't enough, Claude Makelele from Real Madrid, as well as Michael Essien from Lyon, two top-rank players in their league, were packed into the midfield.

The billionaire owner didn't hesitate spending a pocket of millions to keep team captain, England's most promising young centre back John Terry at Stamford Bridge. Additionally, French rock solid defender William Gallas, as well as Spanish first-choice (probably) left-back Asier Del Horno was hired in the back four. Add to it an injured yet promising Wayne Bridge, as well as young Portuguese wonder Paulo Ferreira and his Portuguese partner veteran Ricardo Carvalho to make some Portuguese technical flavor in the back. German youngster Robert Huth is another major asset. Forwards are all non-English foreigners. Inarguably Argentina's most valuable hitman Hernan Crespo, who returned from a magnificient loan spell at AC Milan, is partnered by Africa's most dangerous striker (arguably), Ivory Coast's Didier Drogba. Add to it Icelandic hitman Eidur Gudjohnsen who spares no one with his impeccable target shots. Needless to say, they have arguably the best person in the goal possibly in the entire world---Czech republic's deadly weapon Petr Cech. On a given day, beating him in the goal is like achieving something BIG!

Therefore for every situation, CFC has a man. Even if 3 guys are injured, even if they are major, there's a man for every moment. Lampard's injury still has a cover in Essien. Robben's injury still has a cover in Duff. Carvalho's injury still has a cover in Gallas while the three strikers are interchangeable with each other or even promising bench players like Joe Cole and Wrightphillips. Spending that much a pocket (billions) to compose of a power-packed squad is a fantasy. Money buys stuff for Chelsea it seems. All stars are in there as opposed to other big clubs, even Chelsea's overshadowing clubs like Arsenal and Man U, who have to cope with their injury crises by using youth trainees sometimes as replacements.

CFC's money use has certainly helped them toward the invincible status. However, it is safe to say that 14 guys playing each week in the domestic league can anger the rest who are surely big stars and rightly have their share of ego and a desire to play. CFC is thus no fun. No one likes each other's progress since a competition for places is there every single second. The club doesn't have unity like Liverpool or diginity like Arsenal. Their arrogance and lack of modesty shows when they cover up their minor flaws by bragging about their performances all over the place.

Last year when they claimed the League title as well as the Carling Cup, they were a huge side. Today, they are even bigger. However, today they have even more critics. Today even more people will jump with joy if they get beaten and are finally brought back to reality in terms of how to play football. A star studded line up has forced the opposition fans to simply not pack up their home stadiums to cheer for their homeside against Chelsea. Chelsea's unbeaten streak of 15 league games has simply left their rivals and rival fans biting dust! How to break the jinx?

Well, at least Liverpool had the plan to do so. They were apparently robbed of the victory in the UEFA Champions League this Wednesday. In Sunday's EPL rematch can Liverpool remind Chelsea who the tradition thinks of as the big boys? Surely they can. Rafa Benitez's tactics and the Anfield club's motivation threw Chelsea out of the Champions League at a painful semi-final stage last season. This season, something like this, to re-iterate, would generate an even bigger applause.

I would personally applaud really big time for Arsenal to do so since they are my EPL favorites. They beat Chelsea, and that's a great day right there. So far they haven't had the luck this season, but when it's their day, Chelsea can sink up to a disastrous defeat, as opposed to the 1-0 or 2-0 or 2-1 defeats they have been giving their opponents in a boring manner off late.

Go CFC opponents, I am with ya!
