Yesterday I realized that my review writing has really gone down, partly due to my little princess turning 10 months and taking too much interest in breaking my laptop and desktop both and partly due to my being so damn busy in this shifting from Hyderabad to Mumbai, anyways. Today is my 5th day in Mumbai and how cud one live that too in Mumbai for so long without watching a movie J so we finally did some research on the nearby theatres and came to know that Imax Wadala is the closest one we have got at about 20 minutes distance from our hotel, Mind it - in Mumbai nobody tells u distance in KMS they only tell in minutes and hours.

Imax is one theatreI am in love with for last couple of years as seen too many movies in Hyderabad Imax so in a way this was good to see one in Mumbai too that too the very first movie in the city, they kept me impressed right from the very start, parking is a breeze – very professional, ticketing is good too, as the guy on counter literally showed me the seats he was selling me on his terminal that it was the first row from the top – although the charge is a little bit high 175/- but that’s ok, they have everything you can think of eating while watching a movie. They have a small area dedicated to kids too with swings and see saw’s and a little tunnel game too.

I was shocked and surprisedand happy too to see that they played the national anthem right before the start of the movie with a request that “please stand up for national anthem” and I was surprised(trust me) to see that everybody in the public was standing(Including us). Now, I had not seen that in the history of my 31 years in this country that any theatre playing a national anthem before every show and people standing up without any fuss, Kudos to Mumbai and Adlabs for that too.

If you go out and see the surroundings next to the eateries they have you can literally see those huge reels of the movies being reversed for real and see them playing it too - loaded on the huge rollers, again this is the first time I have ever come that close to those big reels and even wifey was impressed to see “oho that’s how they show us movies:O” types.

Oops! Sorry folks – this is a movie review, OK OK – read on for the movie review now.

Since I was impressed with so many things even before the movie started – I was bound to be happy with the movie too, so that’s what happed with the movie too, right from the word go, It was great watching Big B with that little pony of his. It was good to see him behave right like a typical boss in his own restaurant somewhere in London, too finicky about the stuff they are serving to the public – as all he wanted all the time is to serve the best Indian food and that made him too fussy about the preparation and stuff.

One fine daya lady orders a “Hyderabad Jafrani Pulao” and the game starts, she sends it back as its not the original one and Big B stresses and fights with her too that “This indeed is the original jafrani pulao” and insults her too – at this point I felt like had I been in place of Tabu – I wud have slapped him for the way he behaves with them. She does slaps him but in her own style when she herself cooks the same stuff and brings it to him and he indeed eats it unknowingly and loves it too. This indeed was the first time in the last 22 years that somebody does comes up to that level with him. I loved the way they have shown the young heart inside a 64 year old loner in real life and Big B has played the role to the T. I am not sure about the public liking it or not but I loved it and it was a roller coaster ride for us throughout the 2 hours and a little more barring one moment of serious emotion I felt that too at the very end of the movie.

There are momentswhen you just simply gasp over them, at times you feel like standing up and whistling with two fingers inside your mouth – I wish I know that way of whistling – as I wud have done that specially on that scene where Big B comes in a Denim with a Blazer – he simply looks ravishing in that one and the moment he wears that designer white suit. The way he runs to touch the tree and comes back panting, there are some scenes which are Typically Amitabh Bachchan ones, and no one can do them that well as he has done it.

The way Tabu and Big Binteract with each other, their little fights over very small things, calling each other names like tabu calling him “Ghaas Foos” as he is a pure veg and big B calling her “Tangdi Kabab” as she being a non veg, the way they crave for each other, knowing that their age gap is too much and may not be acceptable to others, but it was indeed very good onscreen and it made me feel right what they thought “Whats wrong if they are in love and if they want to be together?” I was convinced.

Tabu looks exactly the age director wanted her to portray but looks very beautiful specially with those perfect dresses she wears throughout the movie, those action replay shots add some more spice to her beauty.

Zohra Sehgal and Paresh Rawal add up to the fun in the movie, with their good timing on comedy, Specially the way Zohra handles Big B is awesome to watch.

The little cute “Sexy” played by that cute little girl is a treat to watch – by the time movie ends you really are in love with that girl, and you want her so much to fight the disease and live long, I can literally see my little princess growing up like her and interacting with me the way she does with big B and offers him solution in such a way that – that can be expected only from girls, you know females are more mature than males on any given day and on any given age. Her sense of humor is unmatchable, she is too witty.

Again I was not able to control and blurted out loud “Haaye Delhi” as the moment Big B lands in the city and the background from UK changes to New Delhi, I miss delhi.

All in all it’s a good movie if you are looking forward to some hearty laughs and even the handling of subject is good – the way they have done it is convincing enough. This is one movie which doesn’t gives u a feeler of a movie but a good time pass.
